limestone pavement to ingleborough
yorkshire dales
This shot from the limestone pavement at Twisleton Scar, near Ingleton, reminds me how transient landscapes can be. I took it at the end of winter in 2006 and when I returned to the spot the following autumn, two branches had dropped off the tree and the shot doesn't really work any more from this angle.
I'm just glad I took the opportunity when I did because it proves that you don't always get a second chance, even when the subject seems pretty static.
