first light on roseberry topping

I'd set off walking through the woods an hour and a half earlier on this winter morning and it was difficult to tell at that point whether it was going to be worth the effort. As I arrived at this point though, with a little sprinkling of snow on the ground, the conditions were starting to feel good. Eventually, the first rays of winter morning light broke through to the peak of Roseberry Topping and lit it with this bright orange light. Just minutes later the sky had turned a wintry grey and although the light on the hill was still fantastic, the moment for the shot had passed.
